Confession Time & Other News

by Naomi Niles

So…I   haven’t posted here for a few months. Seems that I started getting busy   with stuff and my time slipped away with me. I completed a course and   got certified in Conversion Rate Optimization.  Then I started my new blog and services focused solely on that. You can   see it at the link above. I post twice a week there and although it’s   challenging, it’s been a lot of fun.

by Naomi Niles

I came across this   video through Twitter on Monday. I don’t remember now who tweeted it,  but thank you whoever it was!  It was done by Cognitive Media for a Dan Pink   talk at RSA in London.

I bet that a lot of designers who run their own businesses, like me, don’t actually spend a lot of time designing. Most of my day gets divided up into tasks that are decidedly not very “creative”, like administrative tasks, communication, planning, marketing, small touch ups, coding, etc. etc.

Do you need a website, but don’t know where to start? The very first thing you need to do is sit down and come up with a basic site plan.  Deciding on the type of project and it’s initial specifications will help you pick and start a working relationship with a suitable designer.
